Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford Skincare Review

If you follow me on instagram you may well have seen my post and igtv video when I received a box of Meaningful Beauty goodies as well as a signed copy of Cindy Crawford’s book ‘Becoming Cindy’. Not only is Cindy Crawford a huge idol of mine as both a model and businesswoman but I have also been keen to test out her product line for a while. The line is the brainchild of both Cindy and her French dermatologist Jean Louis Sebagh and it is designed to combat the common signs of aging. Now that I am no longer in my twenties I am on the search for products that will help keep aging at bay so I was excited to see what these products can do.

I received my parcel of goodies about a month ago and since then I have been using her products daily in order to bring you a really honest and genuine review of all the products. Here is a little rundown of the products I have been testing and what I thought of them:

First up...cleansing...I have been using the Skin Softening Cleanser ($33 ulta.com) every morning and evening and I have to say I have been really impressed with this one. I am pretty picky when it comes to cleansers as I have slightly sensitive skin prone to dryness so I have to be sure a cleanser won’t irritate or dry out my skin. This one has a lovely lotion like texture and it is completely fragrance and soap free and PH balanced so no irritation whatsoever. Plus you can use it to remove your eye make up by putting a little on a cotton pad and swiping across your eyelids. I would recommend this one to anyone with sensitive or dry skin. Like all the products you can get this one in a kit or purchase it separately on ulta.com.

In addition to the cleanser I was give the Intensive Triple Exfoliating Treatment ($52 ulta.com)designed to be used twice a week.

As someone with sensitive skin I was a little nervous about using an exfoliator that describes itself as ‘intensive’ however I was pleasantly surprised to find that this one didn’t irritate my skin. I do feel a slight tingling when I apply it but this is something I have some to expect from any products containing AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids). In addition to AHAs this product contains an impressive array of ingredients designed to purify the skin including french clays, mineral micro beads and papaya enzymes. I found I liked to use it in the shower as you need to leave it on for 3-5 minutes for best results. My skin felt really smooth after rinsing and I felt like I had a lovely glow.

The Meaningful Beauty Youth Activating Melon Serum was one of the first products in the line and uses melon leaf stem cells from a specific type of french melon known to be high in antioxidants and thought to prevent aging. I have only been using it for a month so I can’t guarantee this but I must say that this product provides some great hydration and it really lasts throughout the day even if you have dry skin like me. As well as the melon leaf stem cells this product contains orchid extract to stimulate hyaluronic acid production and sea daffodil extract thought to help even out skin tone and improve clarity.

I loved the fresh fruity scent of this one and the innovative packaging with a twist top making it perfect to throw in my gym bag or when I’m travelling. You should use this one both day and night for best results.

Then after the serum in the morning I have been applying a layer of the Environmental Protecting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($65 ulta.com).

This moisturizer was really impressive. It provides a good level of hydration, has an SPF of 30 and it makes skin look dewy (and not chalky). It also makes a good base for makeup. I personally would not probably go out and buy it though as I try to only use SPF products that are mineral based as there is a lot of controversy over the harm chemical sunscreens to both us and the environment.

So overall I did really like the Meaningful Beauty products and even after a month I noticed my skin felt looked and felt more hydrated than usual throughout the day. However, there are a few ingredients in their products that wouldn’t be my top choices as I like to aim for a clean beauty regime. I would love it if they would change this as other than that the products are very effective.
